Many thanks to all that attended last night New Scout Parent Meeting.  If you missed the meeting the notes used to have our discussion are on the top of the Resources page of the Troop website: http://troop149.us

Some quick and important follow-ups to last nights meeting:
  1. REALLY IMPORTANT - We maintain an emergency cell phone contact list and provide it to all families.  We need cell phone number for each parent of our Scouts.  Please provide these ASAP via this form
  2. Next Monday there is a Patrol Leaders Council Meeting (PLC) only.  No regular Troop Meeting.  If your son is a Patrol Leader or an Asst. Patrol Leader he should attend this meeting.  NO UNIFORMS are needed.  Pizza is served for dinner.  Bring $5 cash and give to Tom upon arrival.
  3. The PLC plans theTroop's event details for the coming meetings, campouts and other events.  PLCs start at 7PM and wrap up by 8PM and are held in Montgomery Hall at the church. Asst. Scoutmasters should attend if at all possible.
  4. Reminder again for all to take BSA Youth Protection Training at myscouting.scouting.org.  Send a copy of your certificate to Leslie
  5. Two-deep leadership is a concept you will learn in the YPT class.  It also applies to email.  So if a scout sends email to a troop leader then he needs to copy another adult on the message.  Preferably a parent but not required to be so. Same if you as an adult send email to one of our Scouts.  Then you want to copy a Troop Leader or that Scouts parent
  6. We did neglect to point out one really important volunteer role that we need help with.  It is our Family Friends of Scouting Coordinator (FFOS).  As I mentioned last night we run our FFOS campaign in January so no action need from a volunteer until next December.  Please contact Tina (tkuklenski@mac.com) if you are willing to take this on for us.
All for now and reminder again for the Mom's Tea on Monday March 31 at 7PM in the Parlor on the first floor of the church
