Scouts in 8th grade and First class are invited to sign up for the Cooking Merit Badge. This Eagle required badge is a fun but challenging badge. There will be 2 group meetings as well as some work on your own and some work at various campouts and backpacking/hiking excursions.
Meetings will be held at Mrs. Mendelowitz' house (2307 N. Randolph Street)
The meeting dates are: Sunday, April 24 and Sunday, May 1.
The meetings will begin at 7:30PM and will conclude at 8:45PM.
Bring a notebook or paper to write on. You may also bring a laptop or ipad for typing.
****If you only need to do the pre-requisites for Sinoquipe, plan on only attending the meeting on May 1.
The newest Cooking merit badge pamphlet is very difficult to find in stores so you may elect to print out the Cooking badge workbook instead. The document is 34 pages long however, I printed it at home "back to back" so I only needed half as much paper. The link for the document is below:
Note: If you plan on signing up for this badge and you are also going on the Old Rag Hike on April 16....please see me at the beginning of the troop meeting on April 11. This is a great opportunity to get one of your trail meals checked off!
