Leaf Raking Fundraiser - Sign Up Now!

TROOP 149 RAKING SIGNUP

Scouts, grab your rakes!

It’s time for Troop 149’s annual leaf raking fundraiser for Stop Hunger Now. We’ll be out raking leaves during the weekend of Nov. 5 and 6 to raise money for meals that we’ll help package in February.

Here’s how to help:

1.     Sign up to volunteer.
2.     Spread the word on your neighborhood listserv.

We need 100% participation to make this work. To accommodate different schedules, we will rake on Saturday, Nov. 5, starting right after Scouting for Food, and on Sunday, Nov. 6. We’ll be working both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We’ll also be raking the first weekend of December (December 3 and 4).

Sign up today for Nov. 5–6 at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0c4ea8ae2ea57-leaf4

Sign up for at least two hours—that is, two one-hour shifts.

At least one adult is needed for each team of 4 scouts. Note whether you can bring a rake, tarp, leaf blower, broom, etc., to help.

If you live in a neighborhood other than Cherrydale, please submit the following to your neighborhood listserv:

Boy Scout Troop 149 Leaf Raking Fundraiser

Let the boys of Troop 149 help you, and together, you'll help people in need.

Reserve a team to rake your yard on Saturday, Nov. 5, or Sunday, Nov. 6. A team of boys and an adult supervisor will rake your leaves to the curb for pickup by Arlington County. (County leaf collection starts on Nov. 7.) We can clear a typical lawn in an hour. If your yard is particularly large or leafy, please make a note on your reservation so we can schedule accordingly.

The boys will collect the suggested donation ($100 per hour) after they rake. Checks should be made to CUMC (Cherrydale United Methodist Church), which will host the Stop Hunger Now event in February to prepare thousands of dehydrated meals for hungry people throughout the world.

Sign up today to reserve your team at https://troop149rakesleavestostophunger.eventbrite.com
