Marine Corps Marathon Water Stop Service Project

Hello Troop 149ers,

It’s that time of year again! Runners are counting down the weeks before the 2017 Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday, October 22nd.  Once again they will need Water Station #4 support from 50 Troop 149 volunteers.  Water Station #4 has been moved to the Massachusetts Ave exit on Rock Creek Parkway, where it was in 2015. In addition to being an excellent service project that counts towards required service hours, the MCM is an amazing and fun experience!  Please sign up, Scouts and parents, as soon as possible.

As always there will be doughnuts, bagels, and drinks provided. Liz Ludes and Steve Nichols are the coordinators (for now). For planning purposes, the volunteer commitment is from 6:30 AM to around 11:00 AM.  We will send detailed information on logistics such as meeting location and carpooling as we get closer to October 22. In the meantime, contact Steve at stephengnichols1@gmail.com if you have any questions.
