Leaf Raking Fund Raiser: Sat Dec 13

Scouts (and parents),

Thank you so much for the amazing effort last month in contributing your time and money to the Troop's leaf raking fund raiser for Stop Hunger Now. We earned just over half of the Troop's donation to the event in February. We're going to rake one more time to make up the balance. Please come out and help!

We will rake on Saturday, Dec. 13. Meet at the CUMC parking lot at the start of your shift.

Here's how to help:
1. Sign up for at least a 2-hour shift (two 1-hour shifts) between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
We need 4–5 scouts on each team with 1–2 adults. Please plan to bring rakes, leaf blowers, and tarps.

2. Spread the word! Please send the following message to your neighborhood listserv and to your neighbors. (I'll send to the Cherrydale listserv and will place a notice in the CUMC bulletin. Please let me know if you have placed the notice somewhere else.)

Let the Boy Scouts of Troop 149 help you rake up those last leaves and support a great cause at the same time.  On Saturday, Dec. 13, the Troop will rake yards for donations that will help fund Stop Hunger Now.  The boys will be out from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sign up for your team today!

Go to the Troop's signup sheet on Eventbrite at http://troop149rakesleaves.eventbrite.com

The boys will collect the suggested donation ($50 per hour) after they rake. They also will bag your leaves (for an additional donation of $10). Checks should be made to CUMC (Cherrydale United Methodist Church), which will host the Stop Hunger Now event in February to prepare thousands of dehydrated meals for hungry people throughout the world..
