Ahoy Sailors! Sea Base High Adventure here we come …
Troop 149 is entering the lottery for a Bahamas Sailing trip during Spring Break 2016. (Back up choice is a Florida Keys Tall Ship sailing adventure) You won't want to miss this if you are eligible! **Participants must be thirteen (13) and graduated from the 8th grade or fourteen (14) years old to participate in all programs. Youth who would be eligible to attend the summer season (May-August) ARE eligible for spring program of that year (February-April). AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR SEA BASE CANNOT BE RELAXED. PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST OR EXPECT EXCEPTIONS!
**The ability to swim 100 yards (official BSA swim test) and stay afloat for one (1) minute.
Dates: Most likely March 19-26, 2016 (Spring Break)
Location: Bahamas, Sea of Abaco
Crew Size: 20
Minimum # of Adults 3: More allowed if space available after all Scouts sign up
Cost: Approximately $800 per person for Sea Base plus airfare of approximately $600 +/- $150
Eligibility: 13 years old by start of trip AND finished 8th grade by June 2016 AND First Class Rank or higher
Sign up Deadline: January 1, 2015
Deposit ($100) Deadline: Upon receiving results of the lottery in February (Checks made out to Boy Scout Troop 149)
Deposits go to? Vicki Mendelowitz who is coordinating the trip and she will provide details for these in February once we know our exact trip and exactly how many Scouts can attend.
Scout Priority: Priority will be given to Scouts that are eligible and have not yet attended Sea Base. Amongst those eligible Scouts, priority ordering is by age and rank as we do for all our high adventure crew selections.
More details will be shared when we find out if we "won the lottery". Stay tuned!

Since are collecting full names and birthdates this information will not be publically accessible via our blog and website but Vicki will send out the list of those that have signed up once we reach the Jan 1 deadline.
