It's time for Scouting For Food (SFF) 2018! This is a great chance to be part of an effective, social service to your community. It’s fun, and doesn’t take too much time, especially when we have big participation. Adult participation needed and welcomed!
Saturday, November 3rd—bag distribution. We will meet at the Church (3701 Lorcom Ln Arlington, VA 22207) parking lot at 9AM, where neighborhood assignments will be given to groups, who will distribute bags with flyers. WE NEED ADULTS to drive the kids into the neighborhoods. It usually only takes about 45 minutes for teams to complete their jobs.
Saturday, November 10th—food collection. We will meet at the HB Woodlawn (4100 N. Vacation Lane Arlington, VA 22207) circular driveway at 9AM, where neighborhood assignments will be given to groups, who will collect the donations and return them to HB Woodlawn. WE NEED ADULTS to drive the kids into the neighborhoods. It usually only takes about 45 minutes for teams to complete their jobs. Return to HB Woodlawn to consolidate the donations into one or two cars which then will take them to the drop off site.
It is truly remarkable how much food gets donated and moved. The more the merrier, and many Scouts, parents and friends means increased efficiency, and measurable, positive social impact!
