Whitewater Rafting or Biking Trip 2019 - Sign up by 5/10 please!

IMPORTANT NOTE: All people (adults and Scouts) who want to raft MUST pass the BSA Swim Test, which will be offered at some point in the next few weeks. Any Scout attending the Summit should also take the swim test at this time. Sinoquipe attendees are optional.

IMPORTANT NOTE #2: Wilderness Voyageurs (the outfitter for the trips) need to know a head count by May 10th, so please sign up soon!

When: May 31–June 2, 2019

Where:  Lower Yough River in Ohiopyle, PA. It is a Class III with one lesser IV.  Scouts will camp at Benner's Meadow Run Campground, Farmington PA on Friday & Saturday nights.

NEW RAFTING OPTION:  There is an option for any Scout 16 years or older to raft the Savage River instead of the Lower Yough.  It is a Class III-IV, but it has more volume (there is a release that day!) and is a little more difficult than the other trip.  It’s a 40 min drive from the campgrounds.  The catch is that we have to have two adults willing to drive there and back on Saturday and raft as well, and we have to have enough interest from older Scouts.

NEW NON-RAFTING OPTION: Also, there is an option for biking on a bike trail instead of rafting if you prefer. Costs for 2 nights of camping, Saturday breakfast, and Saturday dinner is $42. Again, we will need two adults to agree to bike and not raft to support any Scout doing this option. You will need to bring money for bike rental and for Saturday lunch.

Organizer and Contact Info:  Jodi Remer – remer.jodi at gmail.com
